Do you listen to the latest sounds around? Does the news of a new waxing from one of your favourite beat combos or pop singers fill you full of joy and expectation? Are you first in line at the record shop doors, clutching your pocket money in your hot sweaty hand, desperate to hold this newest of holy pop grails? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then I need you.

You, yesterday, buying the new Susan Boyle album .

This year has been a great year for music. Not only have we seen X Factor winner James Arthur crash and burn - and James Blunt return to the charts, but Boyzone are back - and have promised to be around 'longer than the Beatles!' whatever the fuck that means. Dickheads.
So, on the 19th December at our final Record Player of the year, we celebrate this years best long players. Not only do we have the genius that is A Christmas Gift To You, the Phil Spector, classic we need your nomination for the album of the year.

It's easy. You have to tell us in three minutes or less which album is the pick of this years crop and then - here's the tricky bit - choose one track that represents that record. Obviously if you have it on vinyl that would be splendid, but, just this once, we will allow CD's or mp3s.

If you would like to take part, email me or leave a comment below.
You will be notified if you are successful once the committee has decided. Thank you.

Will you be having your own 3 minutes? What are your contenders for album of the year?
